Man Assaults Girlfriend For Cheating With Neighbour

A 43-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo’s Old Lobengula neighbourhood punched his girlfriend in the face on the off chance that she was cheating with a neighbour.

Cosmas Baloyi was charged with physical abuse under Section 3 (1) (a) as read with Section 4 (1) of the Domestic Violence Act Chapter 5:16 when he appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Shepherd Mjanja.

Moyo was given a six-month prison term after entering a guilty plea to the charge.

Under the condition of good behaviour, the final three months of the sentence were suspended for three years.

The remaining three months were suspended on condition that he completes 105 hours of community service.

According to testimony given in court, on September 26, 2022, around 5 p.m., Baloyi returned home and accused his partner Nontobeko Ndlovu (33), of cheating with one of their neighbours.

The girlfriend of Baloyi denied having an extramarital liaison.

However, Baloyi had fallen under the total control of the green-eyed monster, and he went crazy.

He delivered a powerful blow to the top of her right eye.
Ndlovu, who was hurt, reported the incident to the police, which resulted in Baloyi’s arrest.
