Robber caged for robbery, taking n___`ude pictures of female victims

A KWEKWE man who robbed women and recorded their obscene actions was sentenced to five years in prison.

Malvin Nyoni (41) was convicted of three counts of robbery and four counts of criminal insult after robbing five women and forcing them to strip or undress as he videotaped the incident.

Kenneth Ndabambi, who was on the run, was acquitted after Nyoni’s capture.

Kwekwe Magistrate Mrs. Mildred Matuvi sentenced Nyoni to five years for three counts of robbery and 18 months for criminal insult.

Prosecutor Ms. Ethel Bhumure informed the court that on 17 December 2022 about 645PM, the first three complainants, who cannot be identified for ethical reasons, were walking home when Nyoni approached from the bush.

“Upon approaching Drive Inn in Redcliff, Nyoni suddenly appeared from the bush with a knife and threatened to stab the women if they did not yield their cell phones,” the court heard.

He then instructed them to undress and play with each other’s private regions as he videotaped the action.

After filming, he vanished.

Nyoni met another woman near Redcliff Golf Course at 5PM on January 1, 2023.

He robbed the woman and took nude images after threatening to stab her with a knife.

Nyoni met another woman on January 9, 2023, and filmed another nud video.

Groceries, school supplies, and a phone were in his knapsack.

Nyoni was caught after his last victim noticed him with her bag and called the police.

His arrest recovered the robbery weapon , stolen smartphones and stationery at his home.
