South Africans Angry After High Court Judgement On Zimbabwe Exemption Judgement

Some South Africans are livid after Pretoria High Court issued a judgement nullifying the decision by Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi to arrest and deport people who don’t have valid Zimbabwean Exemption Permits.

This decision comes after more than 170,000 Zimbabweans living in South Africa under the ZEP were given a grace time to migrate to other mainstream permits before they expired on June 30th.

Except for Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) holders, whose permits expire on June 30 of this year, the South African Home Affairs Department has extended the renewal of permits to December 31.

These people have until the end of June to get documented, after which some of them may be forced to return home.

This has seen some South Africans agitated as they still believe that Zimbabweans are disadvantaging them economically.

Social media comments have proven this;

tumishi seems said;

The High Court is biased, how can they rule against the minister who is determined to do his job, undocumented foreigners must be arrested and be deported to their countries to avoid chaos and criminals who can’t be tracked in our country!

Based on what? Isn’t it that the courts are there to safeguard law and order in the country? How can they then be against deportation of people who are breaking the law? We definitely need mass investigations of who’s running these courts. Brown envelopes?

It’s high time these judges are STOPPED, how can judges issue a judgement to keep illegal criminals in our country? In Zimbabwe this can’t be allowed even though it’s a Banana republic

This is a good decision for South Africa.ZEP holders are less than 100 000 in SA and they are contributing to the growth of SA economy.There should be no reckless decision to chase these people http://away.At least a transitional document of 4 yrs must b given to them.
