MaMkhize celebrates Banyana Banyana success

Wealthy businesswoman Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize has branded South African women’s football team Banyana Banyana the future of the country after their historic win.

She praised their resilience and hard work.

“Women in football are the future of South Africa, and their strength and determination continue to push boundaries. I couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and resilience. Get ready, world, because we are about to make history,” she wrote.

Hildah Magaia was more than excited to have scored Banyana’s winning goal.

“They call me ‘The Breadwinner’. Without me there’s no bread so I had to provide the bread for the nation,” Magaia quipped.

“It means a lot, especially knowing we were so close to going home. It is an emotional one.”

Media personality Somizi Mhlongo shared a short clip of Wednesday night’s action, saying it was an exciting time to be a South African.

“What a time to be alive. What a time to be South African. What a time to witness our women’s sport showing the world what Mbokodo means. Just look at these mzansi warriors displaying the resilience our queens have. Look at the score and look at how many seconds left. Congratulations to the Spar Proteas. Earlier on it was Banyana Banyana. It’s a great day it’s a good women’s month,” Somizi wrote.
