The President clarified General Sibanda’s appointment and his role in an interview with ZBC News on the sidelines of the Saudi – Africa Summit in Riyadh this Friday.

“Well, people are mistaken that General Sibanda is a civil servant. He is not a civil servant. Second point, he is an ex-officio member, which means he can not vote in the Politburo. And I as the President can appoint anyone. I don’t know who gets offended by his appointment. He cannot vote but he can contribute,” he explained.

The ZANU PF conference also saw Cde Rose Mpofu being appointed as the new Secretary for People with Disabilities in the Politburo, replacing late national hero, Cde Joshua Teke Malinga who died in September this year.
