Two children die after eating pap and chicken feet at home

The police in Brits have opened an inquest docket after two children died after eating pap and chicken feet. It’s alleged that the children, aged three and 10 fell ill after eating pap and chicken feet prepared by a 32-year-old

Police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said all family members and their neighbors’ three children ate the meal and everybody went to sleep.

“According to information, the children, aged between 2 and 17 became ill and vomited in the early hours of Saturday morning and an ambulance was called,” Mokgwabone said.

He added that one of the children was declared dead at the scene while others including the neighbors’ kids as well as the woman who cooked the meal, were taken to Brits Hospital for medical attention while the second child died in hospital.

Mokgwabone added that two other children were later transferred to George Mukhari Hospital for further treatment. “Investigations into the matter including collection and testing of food samples are still underway,” Mokgwabone added.
