Forbidden tlof tlof ends in tragedy as woman is knifed to death by boyfriend’s wife

A Gweru woman has been trending after she was reportedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend’s wife.

Stacy Thokozani Mkandla (34) discovered her husband, Tafadzwa Emmanuel Munyoro, in bed with his girlfriend, Brightness Phiri (27), upon returning from an all-night prayer session.

Driven by anger, Stacy Thokozani Mkandla took revenge by fatally stabbing the naked Brightness Phiri. Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, confirmed the incident and provided more information in an interview with H-Metro.

According to Inspector Mahoko, the murder took place in Mkoba 14 around 4 am on Saturday. Stacy had left for the prayer session the previous day, leaving Tafadzwa at home. She returned earlier than expected and went straight to their bedroom, where she found Brightness with her husband. Stacy retrieved a knife from the kitchen and attempted to attack, but Tafadzwa managed to disarm her and fled the bedroom.

Left alone in the house, Brightness allegedly grabbed another knife and stabbed Stacy several times. Despite her injuries, Stacy managed to flee, running naked until she collapsed and died in the next street.

“The two women remained inside and the suspect is alleged to have taken another knife and stabbed the now deceased several times. The deceased managed to escape, scaled over the wall and ran away naked. She, however, collapsed and died in the next street,” narrated Insp Mahoko.

Brightness was found with four stab wounds, and her body was taken to Gweru Provincial Hospital. Stacy surrendered to the police and was placed under custody.

Inspector Mahoko emphasized the importance of seeking counselling in extreme situations rather than resorting to violence.
