Huge blow for Sadomba as court rules in ex-wife’s favour

Edward Sadomba, a former professional footballer, has been given a court order to allow his estranged wife, Sherylnn, to access their shared home without any restrictions. The couple has been experiencing marital issues for the past two years, and there have been speculations that their long-standing romance was heading for a bitter divorce.

The Harare Magistrate Johanna Mukwesha ruled that Sadomba must allow Sherylnn to enter their residence in Pokugara Estates in Borrowdale, irrespective of the time when she arrives. Initially, Sadomba opposed the ruling, preferring that Sherylnn seek assistance from other family members to gain entry to the property to avoid any possible conflicts.

The couple has been living on separate floors within their matrimonial home, and there is already a peace order between them.

Sadomba claimed that Sherylnn had a habit of arriving home late and demanding that he open the gate for her, which created a problematic situation. He also counter-claimed that he was the one being mistreated by Sherylnn and her relatives. However, the court has allowed the two to communicate, but they are prohibited from insulting each other, which has been a significant source of their problems.

The court has also issued a five-year protection order against Sadomba, requiring him not to emotionally or physically abuse Sherylnn.

During the hearing, Magistrate Mukwesha emphasized the importance of the couple getting along and not causing any further problems for each other.

“From the submissions made in the court and papers filed on record, there is no doubt that Sadomba is barring Sherlynn from accessing their matrimonial home where she also resides thereby warranting the granting of this order.

“No matter how hard Sadomba tries to justify himself, it is clear that indeed he has been barring her from accessing the property.

“Therefore, variations to the peace order have been granted and he is ordered to communicate with her for the purposes of allowing her into the premises.

“Sadomba is also ordered not to physically or emotionally abuse Sherylnn.”

The magistrate also ordered the two to maintain peace and not to evict each other until their marital woes were finalised.
