Hwindi President Says Tinashe Mutarisi Promised To Pay His YouTube Money

ZimDancehall chanter, Hwindi President, has said NashTV have promised to pay him proceeds from his song “Pandatadza” which was uploaded on their YouTube channel.
This was after Hwindi President, born Bessel Mugo Parewa, had posted on Facebook complaining that YouTube had not paid him for the song that had already reached over two (2) million views.
In an update, Hwindi President said:
GUYS I’M BACK AGAIN MAERERANO NENYAYA YENASH NEYOUTUBE YANDAMBOPOSTER, [Guys I’m back with the NASHTV-YouTube case I posted earlier]
HANDINA KUZIYA KUTI Nashtvzimbabwe, VANGA VARIKUTONDITSVAGAWO NGUVA YESE IYI. [I didn’t know that Nashtvzimbabwe have been looking for me all this time]
MAMWE MAARTISTS AKATOPIHWA MARI YAWO ININI NDISIPO MAYBE PANE VANOFANIRA KUNGE VACHIITA IZVI VASIRI VAMUTARISI, MAYBE VANENGE VACHIWANDIRWA KANA KUTI NONOKEI, ZVISINEI HANZI MARI YANGU ITORIPO AND IT WAS BECAUSE OF COMMUNICATION. [They paid other artistes when I wasn’t there, maybe someone must be responsible for payment and not Tinashe Mutarisi who is overwhelmed. Anyway, they said my money is there, there was a communication breakdown]
BREAKDOWN… SO FAR WE HAVE RESOLVED THIS ISSUE AND MARI YATOVA MUNZIRA KUUYA [the money is on its way]
Hwindi President is not the first artiste to complain over NashTV’s non-payment. NashTV is owned by local businessman Tinashe Mutarisi who also owns NASH Paints.
A fortnight ago, Lazzie T. Chapo, a reggae artiste and producer claimed that he had removed his song from the NashTV YouTube channel as he was not getting anything from the song despite many views.
YouTube pays up to $6 per 1 000 views which means content creators’ estimated earnings would be $1 200 to $6 000 for every million views on the videos they post.
