Man robbed while having tlof tlof at a football ground

Isaac Chingoza (22) of Mugobo Gold Mine in Shamva is regretting his decision to have tlof tlof at a football ground after he was robbed of his possessions.

The unfortunate incident which took place on Monday left Chingoza licking his wounds hen he lost cash and was battered too at a football ground in Mbare.

Reports state that Chingoza enlisted the services of Tatenda Vengesai (29) from Mbare and together they proceeded to the football ground to carry out their transaction. Unfortunately, the outcome was far from what Chingoza anticipated.

While in the process of having tlof tlof, Ethan Mugore (40) suddenly appeared with some unknown men and attacked him before robbing him.

Upon putting one and one together, Isaac Chingoza realised that he had been set up by Tatenda, who was working with Ethan. Chingoza wasted no time and reported the matter to the police who arrested Ethan and Tatenda before detaining them at Stodart Police Station.

Speaking to H-Metro, Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the incident. He revealed that Isaac was referred to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for treatment after he sustained a deep cut on the nose during the attack.

Inspector Chakanza recounted that Chingoza initially resisted the robbers’ attack. However, Ethan purportedly hit him with a brick on the face, and the assailants subsequently stabbed him. After robbing him of his cash and cell phone, they fled the scene.

“On March 27 at around 4am, the complainant was drinking beer at Nyaumwe Bar when he approached Tatenda and they agreed to have sexual intercourse. The two went to Number 7 grounds in Mbare where they had sexual intercourse. Suddenly, the first accused person appeared with three unknown male adults. The accused person Ethan was reported to have struck the complainant with a brick on the face demanding cash. Complainant refused and the accused person went ahead and stabbed him with a knife on his left arm. The accused persons searched the complainant’s pockets and took US$85 and an Itel cellphone and left,” said Insp Chakanza.
