Kasukuwere suffers huge loss in fire at his property

A huge flame has reportedly consumed Saviour Kasukuwere’s citrus plants at Concorpia Farm in Mazowe, in a terrible twist of circumstances.

The fire, resulting in considerable damage, occurred in the midst of ongoing court proceedings to remove an invader from the premises.

Despite a High Court decision, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) apparently declined to enforce the eviction, raising concerns about the country’s legal enforcement.

According to Kasukuwere, the motive behind this arson attack is yet to be ascertained.

Taking to X Kasukuwere wrote:

“It never rains but pours: A huge fire has destroyed my prime citrus plant at Concorpia Farm, Mazowe. Against all legal efforts to remove the invader, the ZRP has refused to enforce a HC order. For now,  we are yet to ascertain the motive behind this arson attack.”

Saviour Kasukuwere, a former local government minister has been embroiled in a dispute over the ownership of Concorpia Farm.

War veterans led by Ephanos Mudzimunyi invaded the farm, seizing control and harvesting Kasukuwere’s orange produce.

Kasukuwere sought legal recourse, resulting in a High Court order for the invaders to vacate the property.

Despite the court order, Mudzimunyi has refused to leave the farm, claiming that he was allocated the land by the late Lands, Agriculture, Water, and Rural Resettlement minister, Perrance Shiri.

This has led to a stalemate, with production at the farm coming to a standstill.

Workers at the farm have expressed frustration, stating that they have not been able to carry out their duties, leading to significant losses for the farm.

The recent fire at Concorpia Farm has worsened the situation, causing severe damage to the citrus plantation.

The extent of the losses incurred is yet to be determined.

A few days ago, Kasukuwere made the headlines after some unknown people stole his daughter’s bags and valuables.
