Dr Nandipha grinning during virtual court hearing raises storm

Nandipha Magudumana is in the spotlight on social media after pictures of her grinning and even laughing during a virtual court hearing appeared online.

Nandipha Magudumana is being held on a number of serious criminal allegations alongside her co-accused, Thabo Bester, which has already damaged her reputation.

When Magudumana made her fourth appearance at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court, the incident took place. She participated in the proceedings remotely from Kroonstad Prison, where she is now being detained in custody.

The images of her court appearance were shown on TV and disseminated on numerous social media sites, evoking passionate responses from users.

Critics had previously accused Magudumana of benefiting from “pretty privilege” and receiving special treatment due to her remote participation in the court proceedings. However, her demeanour during the hearing further fueled the controversy, as she was seen smirking on camera, seemingly indifferent to the gravity of the situation.

Dr. Nandipha Magudumana’s actions drew harsh condemnation from both the public and prominent figures. Popular South African media personality Thando Thabethe expressed her bewilderment, questioning Magudumana’s inappropriate laughter.

“What on earth Is so funny, what is she smiling & laughing about 🚮,” Thando Thabethe tweeted.

Social media users also joined the chorus, with one user commenting, “Nandipha is so evil, and she is busy smiling,” while another suggested she may be mocking the court and the grieving family involved.
