Form Three student kills classmate with a knife

A 17-year-old Form Three student died after being fatally stabbed in the chest with a knife in a horrible incident at Magwegwe North Shopping Centre.

Police in Bulawayo arrested the suspect, an 18-year-old Form Three student.

The incident occurred on September 20th, and it startled everyone in the area.

The victim was attacked with an okapi knife after reportedly assaulting the suspect’s 16-year-old Form Four student buddy, according to the police statement.

The confrontation between the two students escalated when the victim slapped the suspect across the face in defense of his friend.

The suspect then resorted to violence, resulting in the tragic loss of life.

In a statement, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said,

“Police in Bulawayo have arrested a Form Three student (18) in connection with a case of murder that occurred at Magwegwe North Shopping Centre on 20/09/23 in which another Form Three student (17) died after being stabbed in the chest with an okapi knife.

The victim had slapped the suspect once on the face after accusing him of assaulting his friend (16) who is a Form Four student.”

Meanwhile, the police in Masvingo are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Taurai Murozvi Mabisvo (34), who is being sought in connection with a case of murder.

The victim, Ernest Chakauya (43), tragically lost his life last week on Saturday at Village 13B, Mkosi Resettlement.

According to police reports, the suspect allegedly struck Chakauya with a log on the head, leading to the victim hitting a metal stove after falling down.

This violent act was reportedly triggered by a verbal insult directed at the suspect’s wife.

The police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Taurai Murozvi Mabisvo to come forward and report to the nearest police station.
