The Real Reason Robert Mugabe Jnr Was Arrested

Former son to the late Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe Junior appeared in court on Monday for destroying property at a party in Harare.

Robert Mugabe Junior was arrested on Sunday and was detained at Avondale police station.

Allegations are that the 31-year-old destroyed property worth US$12000 during a scuffle at a party hosted at a house in Strathavn, Harare.

ZRP Public relations officer Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said that Robert Jnr is being charged with malicious damage to property allegations after his friend Nkatazo Sindiso reported the matter.

“The Zimbabwe Republic police confirms that Robert Tinotenda Mugabe (junior) (31) has been arrested on Malicious Damage of property allegations after a complaint by his friend Nkatazo Sindiso (31) that he destroyed property worth USD12000 at house number 3A Verdi Lane in Strathaven, Harare.”

In October 2022, a video of Robert Mugabe Jr. arguing angrily with Bertha—a girl who was refusing to get dressed and leave his house—made the rounds on social media. Following their one-night stand, Bertha demanded that the Mugabe heir pay her US$50 first.

Grace Mugabe, who was first lady at the time, angered South Africans in 2017 when she discovered Robert Jr. and Chatunga in their rented Sandton apartment and severely beat model Gabriella Engels with an electrical extension cord. After being granted diplomatic immunity by the South African government, she fled the country.

Since their father left the presidency in 2017 and died in 2019, Robert Mugabe Jr and Chatunga lowered their partying habits.
