Ex-Generations actress Sonia Mbele collapses, hospitalized

Former Generations actress Sonia Mbele was recently hospitalised after she collapsed because of hectic schedules and overworking.

Sonia is the producer of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg.

The Drama Behind The Real Housewives of Johannesburg

When she dazzled attendees with her elegantly charming poise and fashion at the launch over the weekend, no one imagined she had just dashed from hospital.

She was discharged last week from the hospital, just two days before the launch of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg.

Why Sonia Mbele Was Hospitalised

Sonia’s close friend told ZiMoja she was admitted for two weeks after feeling dizzy.

“She was lightheaded and kept looking balanced, but we took it lightly. She then suddenly collapsed. Thank God she was working from home that day, and her mother and helper were at her house, and both had to spring into action.”

Sonia battles intense anxiety and was frantic over the successful premier of the reality show.

According to a source, her anxiety reached severe levels following her loss of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg two years ago.

“Sonia has a strong team consisting of young women that she is also mentoring. Luckily they were also on her side in planning the event. Thanks to technology, most of the planning was done. On the day of the event, one could have sworn the event was put together by an army of event planners as nothing was out of line.”

Sonia reportedly requested an early discharge from the hospital a day before the premiere, as she believed her continued stay would raise suspicion or draw attention.

She attended the reality show launch on 19 May and left immediately after everything was done so she could sleep in her room at the opulent Marriott Hotel in Melrose Arch.

Sonia Mbele confirmed to Zimoja that she was hospitalised:

“I take my work seriously; however, overworking and breaks in between proved to be overwhelming.”
