Secrets exposed: New images shows Chivayo, Mpofu at SA firm linked to ZEC scandal

Ren-Form CC, a South African company, has recently become embroiled in a controversy that has caught the attention of the Zimbabwean news. The company’s alleged involvement with three Zimbabwean businessmen – Wicknell Chivayo, Mike Chimombe, and Moses Mpofu – who are under investigation has drawn widespread scrutiny.

The controversy stems from Ren-Form CC’s purported connection to the Zimbabwe Election Commission (ZEC) procurement scandal. Despite the company vehemently denying any business dealings or association with the three Zimbabwean businessmen, evidence has emerged that suggests otherwise.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) is actively investigating Chivayo, Chimombe, and Mpofu for alleged theft of trust property and money laundering, following a contractual dispute related to the supply of election materials to ZEC. It is alleged that Ren-Form CC, through these businessmen, secured tender deals from ZEC worth millions of dollars without adhering to due process.

Ren-Form CC issued a widely circulated statement on social media refuting any involvement with Chivayo, Chimombe, and Mpofu, emphasizing that they had no knowledge of or relationship with the trio regarding ZEC. Additionally, the company dismissed the allegations made by Chimombe and Mpofu as baseless, expressing outrage at the claims.

“At Ren-Form, we are outraged by these allegations, and we would like to set the record straight in terms of the claims made by the two gentlemen concerned, which have completely no basis. We confirm that we do not know these gentlemen and have no relationship whatsoever nor any agreement of any sort with these gentlemen relating to ZEC or any other matter.”

However, recent developments have cast doubt on Ren-Form CC’s assertions. Pictures shared by The NewsHawks depict Chivayo and Mpofu at Ren-Form’s premises in Johannesburg, South Africa, standing alongside company executive Angus Carlaw on 2 February 2024. These images seemingly contradict the company’s denial of any association with the Zimbabwean businessmen.

The emergence of these photographs has raised concerns about the veracity of Ren-Form CC’s previous statements and triggered a wave of skepticism regarding the company’s transparency and credibility. The revelation has fueled public debate and intensified the spotlight on the company’s purported involvement in the ZEC procurement scandal.
