Veteran SA actress Frances Ndlazilwana dies

The South African entertainment industry has lost a talented actress, Frances Ndlazilwana. She passed away on Wednesday at 8am after battling an illness for a long time. According to sources close to the situation, Ndlazilwana died at home surrounded by family. The source adds that she was old and frail.

Her grandson, who is also an actor Mbulelo Katise, confirmed the news. “At 89 years old, she departed peacefully from this world and we know that she will watch over us now as our guardian angel,’ Mbulelo said. He added that the veteran actress changed his life in so many ways.

“She helped me at such a tender age to discover my gift of acting that I now get to share with the world many years later,” added Mbulelo.

Ndlazilwana was known for her exceptional acting skills and captivating performances. She starred in numerous productions, including films, TV shows and theatre productions. Her notable performances include that on drama series After 9 and her role in the popular SABC1 drama series Intersexions, where she played the character of Mama Ephi.
