Celebrities show Dineo Ranaka support after suicide scare

Dineo Ranaka has received an outpouring of support from SA’s A-listers after she confessed she was struggling with suicidal thoughts.

Following her Tuesday disclosure of her mental health difficulties, the media personality soared up trending lists.

“I completely understand souls, spirits people that commit suicide. I get it. I get them. Because I’m trying my best not. My mind is so loud of late and life is f*cking hard. So hard. And I’m trying my best but it seems my best is not enough. My children, my God,” she wrote.

Her timeline was instantly flooded by heartfelt messages from her family, industry colleagues and friends.

“Strength is you and you are strength. I’m committed to showing you what that means if you can’t see it or feel it,” her sister Manaka Ranaka wrote.

“You are loved. Wholeheartedly. You still have so much living to do in the best way possible. Hang in there and seek professional help, mama. This too shall pass,” Boity Thulo wrote.

“Sending you lots of love, strength and prayers. This too shall pass Dineo,” said Thami Kotlolo.

“There’s no permanent problem my queen stay strong, everything will pass. Sending love to you,” wrote Makhadzi.

“The struggle is real mama, just keep fighting day by day … Nothing stays the same forever Mama,” said Minnie Dlamini.

“Yeah. But we fight. We reach for even the slightest sliver of light Dineo! I recognise this feeling. You are not alone,” wrote Tumi Morake.

Kaya 959 released a statement sending her well wishes as she could not avail herself to host the breakfast show.

“The Kaya 959 family is keeping Dineo in their hearts, and we wish her healing. We also ask for privacy as Dineo gets through this difficult time.” said the stations Colleen Louw.
