Khama Billiat’s future bleak

Speculation regarding Khama Billiat’s future at Kaizer Chiefs abounds, with uncertainty hanging in the balance until June.

The Zimbabwean striker, who had previously enjoyed a fruitful spell with Sundowns, joined Kaizer Chiefs but was unable to replicate his brilliance with the Brazilians.

Billiat’s career has been marred by a string of injuries since joining Kaizer Chiefs, prompting Amakhosi fans to demand that the club release him due to his inconsistency.

Following his inconsistency and uncertainty about his future with Kaizer Chiefs, Khama’s ex-coach Sunday Chidzambwa stated that the player should brace himself for a difficult decision when his contract expires in June.

“At this point, anything is possible. Injuries have affected him,” said Chidzambwa to FARPost’s Terry Madyauta.

“The latter is usually the toughest and one that needs to be prepared for mentally. He has to be ready for both.” added the former Zimbabwe national side coach, Chidzambwa.

Meanwhile, gallant Khama, who had been a sure presence in the lineup, has been sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a groin injury he sustained during the Soweto derby last October.

Chiefs have replaced him with the young and talented Christian Saile Basomboli, who hails from the Congo.

With how things are looking at Chiefs, coach Zwane has refused to name the players who will represent the Glamour Boys next season.

“Look, everything boils down to one thing; profiling players, the plan for next season,” Zwane said on Monday, as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“I am not going to say who is going to be part of the team next season or who is not going to be part of the team. We don’t know as we stand; only time will tell.
